BDO Sault Ste Marie's John Thompson plays Debt Doctor

John Thompson, a Senior-Vice President with BDO Canada who provide debt help services to individuals and businesses in Sault Ste. Marie, recently wrote an article for Local2 Sault Ste. Marie’s Debt Doctor column. John’s article “Another Warning – High Debt Levels”  highlights findings of a recent CIBC survey which revealed that about half of the Canadians surveyed, were focusing on trying to reduce their debt load. 

John sees this a positive sign that consumers are recognizing the importance of getting their financial houses in order before interest rates rise.  For many who are carrying debt such as a mortgage, loan or a line of credit, even a small rise in interest rates may make it difficult to pay the increased monthly payment amounts.
