BDO AND BILL MCCULLOCH & ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCE MERGER
Expanding one of Canada’s most comprehensive financial recovery practices, BDO Canada Limited and Bill McCulloch & Associates have merged their professional practices, effective May 1, 2010. The offices now operate under the BDO Canada Limited name.
The two highly successful independent practices, together, will help grow BDO’s presence in Alberta and B.C. with over 55 staff, including nine bankruptcy trustees in Alberta and two trustees in B.C. Additionally, the team will be backed by, and have access to the resources of, a national network of dedicated financial recovery specialists. In Alberta, individuals and companies with financial difficulties can visit offices in Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Red Deer and five locations in Edmonton. In British Columbia, our Financial Recovery Services team practices in Cranbrook, Kamloops, Penticton, Vancouver, Vernon and two locations in Kelowna.
BDO is the holder of one of Canada’s first corporate licenses as a Trustee in Bankruptcy. The newly expanded team now creates an increased depth of our pre-existing services and will allow us to continue to deliver quality, timely and professional advice to help individuals and businesses with financial difficulties.
According to Matt McCulloch, President of Bill McCulloch & Associates, “Our clients will be offered a wider range of experience and resources now that we have merged our practices. As BDO, we will be able to help any individual or business that needs financial recovery and restructuring services find a cost-effective solution.”
Stu Hughes, Western Canada Region Managing Partner of BDO, stated, “The merger will allow BDO to maintain and grow our presence in the Edmonton, central and northern Alberta, and Okanagan marketplaces. We believe that Matt McCulloch is one of the bright young leaders in financial recovery services and are very excited to have him and Jordon Day joining our practice in Edmonton, and Stewart Rennie in Kelowna. This will help us enhance our capacity, strength, depth and credibility in Western Canada.”
Keith Farlinger, Chief Executive Officer of BDO Canada LLP, commented, “Merging our practice with Bill McCulloch & Associates reflects our commitment to growth across Canada so that we can strengthen or expand the services that BDO provides to our clients and to the marketplace. By way of this merger, we further enhance our position as one of Canada’s leading financial recovery practices.”
